Canon Finally Discontinued the EOS M Camera System

Share

Canon decided to use the EOS M system, and now you cannot find any Canon cameras with the EOS M system, including EOS M50 and M50 Mark II. If you look at Canon’s website, it appears that Canon USA has removed most of the EF-M lenses from its website and marked them as “out of stock.” Currently, only the 22mm f/2 STM lens remains available for purchase. According to Petapixel, “At present, sales of EOS M series cameras and EF-M lenses vary from region to region depending on user needs.”

After shutting the door of the EOS M system, Canon may shift their more attention to other camera systems like the EOS R series. “The Canon EOS R100 camera was designed for new, first-time mirrorless camera or existing interchangeable camera users who previously enjoyed EOS Rebel or EOS M cameras,” Canon said at the time.

But if you are still using the EOS M system, it is recommended that you buy the camera lens second market. Currently, the camera lens suited for the EOS-M system is a good deal. and you can also purchase Sigma and Viltrox lenses for the EOS-M system.
