In September, Cosina will release its new camera lens – Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.2, which is designed for Fujifilm x shooters. Our photographer Dylan Siragusano reviewed its Voigtlander Nokton 23mm F1.2, which is a great lens. According to the Cosina official, the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.2 would be approximately 49mm (1.93 inches) long and weigh around 290 grams (10.2 ounces).
According to the information provided by petapixel, the camera lens would be a manual focus medium telephoto lens and boasts a large aperture and it has an angle of view that is equivalent to a 75mm lens in full-frame 35mm format. When it comes to its f1.2 large aperture, it is designed with asymmetrical front and back apertures, creating unique rendering characteristics and bokeh.
The Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.2 has nine elements arranged into eight groups, along with two special optics, simply improving the lens performance and image quality. Due to its aperture ranging from F/1.2 to f16 in 12, it is easy for photographers to create some great images with shallow depth of field and deep focus effects. Its 12-bladed diaphragm can create smooth and pleasing bokeh, letting all photographers have rounder and more natural-looking bokeh balls in images. According to the company, this camera lens features 1/3 stop increments that allow for precise control over the aperture setting; and a focusing distance of 0.39 meters that ensures great details in images, while you get closer to the subject. It is pretty useful for close-up photography. Additionally, the camera lens supports electronic communication with the attached camera even if it is a manual focus lens, including various functionalities such as focus check support, and shooting distance-linked display.
On the Cosina website, the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.2 are not fit for X-Pro1 and X-Pro2, as well as some older X-A, X-E, and X-T series cameras
