The Sigma 14mm F1.4 DG DN Art lens is indeed designed for astrophotography, as evidenced by its manual focus lock (MFL) and AFL button, which allow photographers to control the focus infinitely and access useful features. The lens features advanced optics, including 1 SLD, 3 FLD, and 4 aspherical elements, and in-camera optical aberration control profiles are used to correct distortion and vignetting. The high-response Linear Actuator (HLA) motor is the Sigma’s third lens to use this function, providing faster, smoother, quieter, and more accurate focusing than a stepping motor.
This lens allows 58% more light to reach the camera’s imaging sensor, making it ideal for use in low light and capturing images of the night sky.
The lens will be available starting from June 23rd at the price of $1599.99 USD.
