According to petapixel, Now, news from Tarmron that it’ll update the firmware for Tamron Firmware Update Improves AF for 28-200mm and 35-150mm Zooms. These two camera lenses are well-suited for Sony E mount. This firm update will significantly improve autofocus performance, enhancing autofocus accuracy, particularly when tracking a moving subject. Additionally, this firmware update introduces support for the AF Assist function during video recording.

The Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD lens has been updated to version 3, while the 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 zoom lens has been upgraded to version 4. The Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD lens, released in 2020, is an all-in-one zoom lens designed for full-frame cameras. It is the world’s first all-in-one zoom lens for full-frame cameras that offers an f/2.8 aperture at the wide end. This means that at the 28mm focal length, the lens can provide a relatively wide maximum aperture of f/2.8, allowing for better low-light performance and increased control over depth of field compared to lenses with smaller maximum apertures.

“The new 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 is a distillation of all Tamron’s accumulated all-in-one zoom expertise and has been specifically developed as an all-in-one zoom for daily use on a full-frame mirrorless camera,” Tamron said in 2020. “Tamron chose Model A071 as the model name in a nod to ’71’ representing the world’s original compact all-in-one zoom.”

The popular lens is designed for travel and portrait photography. “Incorporating the most frequently used focal lengths from wide-angle and standard to medium telephoto and telephoto all within this single lens enables seamless shooting without the need to swap lenses, which is beneficial especially when shooting portraits where a sense of rhythm is particularly important. This helps the user capture outstanding shots without missing the fleeting expressions of the model,” Tamron explains.

The Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 lens features Tamron’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focusing system. This advanced focusing system promises high-speed and high-precision autofocus performance, allowing for quick and accurate focusing on subjects.

The Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD lens was listed at a price of $1,899.00 for the E-mount version and $1,999.00 for the Z-mount version.
